NDIS Access Help
Accessing the NDIS can be one of the most frustrating and challenging experiences to partake. Since the rollout of the scheme there has been many changes to how individuals can apply and what evidence is needed to access the scheme. Looking at the NDIS official website, an individual must first meet some 5 initial eligibility criteria, that being:
1. Aged between 7 & 65 years of age
2. Do you live in Australia and have residency or special category visa
3. Do you usually need support from someone because of a permanent disability or impairment?
4. Do you use special equipment due a permanent disability or impairment?
5. Do you need supports to reduce your present and future needs?
Its important to know that you do not need to have answered yes to questions 4 and 5, as there are many disabilities where equipment is not necessary to require ongoing support.
At OT Allied Health we have helped hundreds of individials and family members test their eligibility for the NDIS. Our service provides support from initial referral right through to NDIS access met and NDIS planning meetings with Local Area Co-ordinators (LAC). We acts as official NDIS registered nominees and once consent is obtained are responsible for all assessments, evidence gathering, report writing, liasing with health practitioners, family, significant others, and engaging with NDIA delegates on a regular basis to ensure all the necessary and appropriate information is submitted to ensure the highest chance of NDIS access met, first time. We specialise in all types of disabilities including psychosocial, autism spectrum disorders, intellectual, physical, dual disabilities, CALD/ATSI, LGBTIQ, mental health. In addition we also provide carers/family support throughout the process as well as NDIS planning meeting preparation, attendance and advocacy support.
